As one of the oldest townships in Western Australia, New Norcia is a heritage site with many historically significant buildings. It attracts approximately 70,000 visitors each year. The central focus of the township is the monastery, which continues to live out a spiritual tradition dating from the sixth century. Town activities include an education centre, a group accommodation centre, museum and art gallery, hotel, roadhouse and a number of support services.
